Ann and I are cousins, my ancestor was George Red's sister. She is listing generations from Josiah McGaw and his daughter Sarah. I have Josiah McGaw's children with his first wife as Sarah, John, Catherine, and William. This is based on the 1850 Census of Holmes Co Mississippi (which is, or was, on-line). Sarah Red was a widow, and John McGaw was living with her so I assume he was her brother. The other two were living with Josiah and born before his marriage to Martha Devlin (Pressley). Martha Devlin had one son by her first husband, John Pressley. John E. Pressley was a Presbyterian minister in Cabarrus County, North Carolina, where he married his sister Martha Jane (Mattie) McGaw to H.P. Helper on 3 Sept. 1863. While Josiah McGaw's first wife is shown as Martha Russell, I have no proper source for her name. I would like to know who her parents were.
