I attended an Antique Fair this past weekend in Round Top, TX.  While there, I ran across an old Bible with records for the following family:   C.E. MIMS, b. 2 Apr 1807-------d. 5 July 1875, Montgomery AL and his wife, Eliza E. MARTIN, b. "on line of Abbevelle & Cambridge Dists. SC", 29 Aug 1809 & d. 12 Mar 1875, Montgomery, AL. I did not purchase this Bible, but got the lady's address & phone number.  She is located in TX.  I told her if she would let me copy a bit of the record, I would put out the info online in hopes of reuniting this Bible with any possible descendants, etc. If you may be interested, please contact my e-mail address.  There are additional records in the Bible, but I could not take them all down.  For somebody out there, this might be a wonderful find.  (It would be for me.) I have looked for years for the background of THOMAS DONALDSON. He was a Rev Vet from SC, lived in Abbeville, and died there 1811. Can anyone tell me where he and his family lived in Abbeville. They all seem to have migrated to the Atlanta area of GA before 1830. Another family I am looking for is RUTLEDGE. MARGARET ELIZABETH RUTLEDGE mar RUBIN (SIC) DONALDSON prior to 1830. I don't have much on her. She was born in 1795 and died in 1851. She was married first to Gilbert MILLS and then Samuel SMITH. I did find out who her parents were,William MCGAW and Mary PATTERSON. James MAYSON, b. abt 1733 probably Scotland died 1799 Abbeville area married maybe three times, at least two known marriages. 2] Ann Goudy 3] Henrietta Hart James had about 14 children; he left will naming these children and a few grandchildren which is a good start to a family tree. He was a Major in the Regulators, a Lt. Col. in the SC Militia, he performed the first overt act of the revolution in Sc by attacking Star Fort and capturing its Commander and all their ammuntion which was the objective set out for him by his colonel in charge. James was a Judge in Newberry after the war. He owned two plantations and two ferries and a large Distillery anyone wanting to discuss this fmaily please contact me. Charles.
