    3. Hi : I second that proposal. The family history library in Salt Lake City has the largest record repository in he world. They will professionally micro film them, and give you a copy to do with as desired at NO COST. They will then put them in their library for any one to access who desires by going there or ordering a copy of them to look at in their local library. This is a wonderful find and it appears like there is a lot of interest in them including myself. My gt.gt. grandfather JOHN BATTE BAIRD and FAMILY lived lived in the Abbeville district around 1800,before and after. I have been reading with interest, as so many subscribers have, about the find in Edgefield. I understand the documents will be available at the D A Tompkins Library and at the Archives in Edgefield, but for those of us throughout the country, that is somewhat inaccessible. Have you thought about contacting the Family History Library in Salt Lake City? 3. Hi all, While searching the online index of the South Carolina Department of Archives and History, I came across a plat that mentioned my 3g-grandfather, Simeon Chaney. He is listed as a neighbor in a land grant. The land grant in question surrounded my his land on three sides and gave the metes and bounds. So now I have a good idea of the location of his property even though the deed was burned in the courthouse fire of 1873. Suzanne Collins Matson

I hope that you will be able to find volunteers to help with this. It is too bad that so many of us eager to know about the find live so far away. Kay Austin, Texas

    3. --=======5A536268======= Content-Type: text/plain; x-avg-checked=avg-ok-7D8129BE; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit We are still unfolding documents to catalogue the items that have been found. There are about 75 or more boxes of envelopes. Guardianship papers, equity settlements, arrest warrants, Equity bonds, etc. Every time I go over and begin to help I am amazed at what we have. When we have all the papers opened, catalogued and make a final assessment, we have to decide how to preserve the documents and make them available to everyone.
