    3. Hi I have been trying to research a James SWAN moving to Logan Co, KY from SC (Little Beaverdam Creek of the Tugaloo River) c1800. James SWAN was in SC as early as 1790 (1790 SC census) and maybe earlier since some of his children listed their birthplaces and dates as early as 1777 in SC. James SWAN's wife at his death was Elizabeth. Names of his possible children are: 1. James Jr, b. ca 1777, still alive in 1860 (m. Nancy BROWN) 2. Sarah/Sally, b. 1781, d. 1871 (m. Jacob BROWN) 3. Francis Godfrey, b. ca 1784, d. 1848 (m. Elizabeth CHAMBERS) 4. Margaret, (m. Joseph BROWN) 5. Mary (Polly) b. ca 1792, d.1870 (m. Peter L. MCCLANAHAN) 6. Elizabeth, ca 1795, d.? (m. John BROWN, Jr) 7. Alexander, b. ca 1796, d. ?. 8. Samuel, b. ? d. ? 9. John, b.ca 1790, d.? 10.Hyrum, b. ca 1799, d. ? The three BROWNs that married James SWAN's daughters were probably sons of a John BROWN also of SC and I believed also lived on the Little Beaverdam Creek of the Tugaloo River and he moved to KY about the same time as James SWAN. William C. Stewart's "1800 CENSUS OF PENDLETON DISTRICT SOUTH CAROLINA" suggests, without any supporting data, that James SWAN "probably" came from Chowan Co, NC??? It would really be super if anyone has any information that might help me continue this search. Thanks again, Tom Holmdahl holmdahl@televar.com > --
