Johnnie, They object because it effects the marketability of the book. I have the same problem with mine. I am willing to do a look up in my book so that the buyer won't have to buy something that is useless. I don't give out specific information but will tell the interested party if the name is there or not. This has worked well for me but some people still try to give all the info out of the book and thereby negate the sale. These books are self published and cost a great deal, both in time and money. Believe me, there is no profit. You do well to pay for the publishing with nothing for the time. The love of history and genealogy has to be the reward. It also takes a lot of time to do look ups but I would rather have a happy customer. Having said that - if anyone would like a look up under the above conditions, my book is "Abstract Henderson County NC Estate Records 1838 - 1900" Kathy Summers ----- Original Message ----- From: "Johnnie Nivens" <jnivens2@carolina.rr.com> To: <SC-OLD96-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, November 02, 2002 12:05 PM Subject: RE: [Old96] old 96 Bible look up OFFER > I think as long as you are not give too much information, they should not > object.
