Being in perfick State of helth and memory noing that it is appointed unto all men onst to dy and after deth to Judgment beleaving in the isorrection of Just and on Jest do commit my body to the Earth and my Sole to God that made it having a comfortabil Hope in the iserrection of the dead -- Do make and ordain this my last Will a testament as it is, now lise on my mind to Will my Estate that is to say -- the temprel blessings that it has pleased God to bestoe me of the things of this World -- Do make and affearm this my will and desiear---- First of all I do give and bequath to my -son John Meredith all the plantation and track of land whare he now lives as fare as was run out to Him by Breham Farguson which he has a plat of the land to sha together with all the stock and house furniture that I have giving him before----------- I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Randals five shillings having giving hir Before what I entended to give hir--------------- I give and gequeath to my Daughter Sarah Jones five shillings having giving hir before what I entinded to give hir----------- I Give and bequeath Unto my son Thomas Meredith one bay horse and one bay mare that He has now inpersefsion one fether bed and firnetue and three cows and calvs together with all the Land that lise on the East side of the branch that runs thrue my plantation and extending out in the Hills to the Upper corner of Mrs. Oatses old field on Branch whare theare is an old Ridg path comes down to the corner of the old field then as that old ridg path runs while it strickes the road then a crafs the rode on the same corse while it shall strike my back line observing that this land is not to come into the fork of the branch that runs thru my plantation but is to lie all on the east side of the main branch and north side --I give and bequeath to my son James Meredith one horse worth ninty dollars three cows and calvs one fether bed and furniture together with all my plantation and land that lise on the west side of the above branch that runs thru my plantation together with all the land that lise on the creek and on both sides of the creek absaving what I shall say respecting this land farther------------------ I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Abigail Meredith-----nigrose--Marcus Jack Isaac Jacob and Jinney to keepe them together with the use of the plantation as much of it as is necessary under the directions of my three sons while my dets is pade that is to say John Thomas James are to direct this bisinefs like wise I leave with my wife my hause and the rest of the firnitue and all the rest of my stock of horses and cattel and hogs and plantation tools to support my children and they marry to give then such firnitue as can be spared and as much stock as can bee spared after my dets is pade I then gie unto my son Thomas Meredith on nigro named Jack--------- After my dets is pade I give to my son James Meredith one nigro named Isaac I like wise leave with my three sons my blacksmith tools so that each one may do theare work---- likewise after my dets is pade I give to my wife Marcus Jacob and Jinney as long as she is my widow and after hir deth or mariedg I then give to my daughter Nancey one nigro named Jacob-- likewise after the deth or marredg of my wife I give to my daughter Cathren on nigro named Jinney and at the same time at the deth or maredg of my wife that the rest of my stock and house firnitue--and old Marcus bee equally devided between my tow daughters Elezebeth and Pattey---------------------------- I give and bequeath to my daughter Nancy all the land that lise between the land that I have giving to my son Thomas and the land that I bought of John Tidwell-- I give unto my daughter Cathron the plantation and all that part of the land that belongs to me that I bought of John Tidwell running the Tidwell line on a strate corse towards Rockey branch while ti shall strike my line the same way that John Meredith land was run----Giving under my hand and seel this fefteenth day of September in the eare of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eight and in the thirdy third eare of the independeinc of the United States of America singned and Sealed in the resents of us I have appointed for my Exircuters of my Estate John Meredith and Breham Furguson John Graham Ely Elkins Reubin (his mark) Hollis Thomas Meredith Senr.
