    2. I am looking for the following families who were in SC but moved to GA before 1830. JAMES CLARK b. 1808-9 SC. His wife, Elvira (Elva, Elvina) b. 1811 SC. Surname unkn. Elvina d. c. 1864. Two children listed on 1830 census of Marion Co. GA. Unkn and not mentioned in census after 1830. Four children listed on the census living with them on the 1850 and 1870 census in Marion Co. All b. in SC: 1850: William Kidd 17, Rebecca Kidd 5, and John Morrow 20. 1870 census: Jane Kidd 15. There may be family connections. James Clark remarried c. 1864-68 to Mahala Richardson b. 1833 GA. Three children: James d. 21 of fever, Susan married late in life, no children, Ely married to Ella Mae Griner of Mitchell Co. GA. Looking for parents of James Clark, Elvina, and where they were from in SC. JOHN RICHARDSON b. c. 1785-95. Census ages vary. His wife, ELIZABETH CATHERINE, b. c. 1785-95 SC. Mother Scots, father German. Surname unkn. Census ages vary. Two children listed on the 1830 census but names are unkn. John Richardson was on the 1830 census of Marion Co. but did not appear again on any census. This was the first census for that County after the 1827 Land Lotteries. On the 1850 census of Marion Co. GA, Elizabeth C. is listed as head of household. Three children are listed: Mary b. 1831 GA, Mahala b. 1833 GA, and George W. b. c. 1836 GA. John could have come from SC to GA with his family or as an adult. I cannot find anything on this man. The courthouse in Marion Co. burned in 1846. Looking for parents of John Richardson, Eliz. Catherine, date of birth, where in SC they were born. NOTE: James Clark and John Richardson were listed as the first settlers of Marion Co. GA. John's dau., Mahala Richardson, married James Clark after the death of James' first wife, Elvina. WILLIAM PHELPS b. c. 1773. SC or NC? His wife, Sophia Lee, b. c. 1776-77 SC. Her father is believed to be William Lee of SC. William and Sophia Lee Phelps moved to Pulaski Co. GA between 1810-14 and remained there all their lives. Children: Arthur b. 1808 SC, William, James, Henry, Elijah, S. Needham, Caroline, Elizabeth, Polly. These children are not in birth order. Arthur is my line. Henry was a twin to James, died in infancy. Looking for information on the parents of William Phelps, where he was born, siblings. Looking for conformation on William Lee being the father of Sophia Lee, mother's name, parents of William Lee, siblings from both generations. ALEX BROWN b. c. 1837 GA. Found on the 1870 census of Alachua Co. FL. Wife: Augusta, Children: Jackson, Arthur, Susan, Missy, Mariah (Harriet?). Children b. between 1860-68 FL. NOTE: I am trying to find Alex's parents. They may have come from SC to GA as many did in the early 1800s. Cannot find any information in GA concerning Alex or his parents or any family connections to this man. All came to GEORGIA from NY, CT, VA, KY, NC, SC. Most stayed, but some went on to: FL, LA, TX.
