I am researching the Bartholomew White line. He was married to Liddy ? and named 6 children in his will dated 1809. His children were Charles, Liddy White Nichals/Nichols, Solomon, Caty White Little, Margaret White Little, and John White. His will was written in Pendleton District in 1808 and recorded March 6, 1809. Test, Benjamin White, Willey Bruster, Henry Funderburk. We do not know where Bartholomew was before coming to Old Pendelton. In the book "Vandiver's History of Anderson County" Chapter 2, Formation of Anderson County and the Beginning of the City, page 12 it states, "The original grants on whith the town of Anderson were built were made to William Turpin and Adam Crane Jones. Jones conveyed his to Bartholomew White......" Bartholomew White's grandson, Bartholomew White wife Mary Polly ?, named his children: Osborne who married Permillia Stone, Sarah White who married Tillman Garrett, John White who married Mary A. Garrett, sister of Tillman Garrett, Jonathan White who married Delilah Ardelia ? Indian, Matthew Gambrell White who married Susanna, and Martha White who married francis Marion Smithson. All of these children were born in Anderson SC. Bartholomew and Mary are buried at the New Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. Any help would be appreciated.
