    3. Thanks to the list for making me aware of this book. What a fascinating study of the backcountry culture! It is easy to see now why my family has evolved the way it has since finding itself in South Carolina in the late 18th century. Some libraries keep the book in the reference section but I was able to find one that would lend it. I highly recommend it. Thanks again. 3. Yes, everyone should read _Albion's Seed_. They should make a public tv documentary on it. I know the History Channel did an excellent doc on Britain and its History, but it was all emcompassing. This Southeast region of England has exported so many fascinating people, yet is little discussed except in college classes devoted to this subject. I think but am not sure that the famous Cromwell ("Cromwell, I keep hearing that name Cromwell." King Charles) came from that particular region in Britain.
