The following shows up in all the Old 96th Dist Posts. ==== SC-OLD96 Mailing List ==== This list serves the area that encompasses present day Spartanburg, Union, Laurens, Abbeville, Newberry, Edgefield and parts of Anderson and Cherokee and adjoining Counties along the NC line. It needs to also include: Saluda (1895) , Greenwood (1897), McCormick (1915) and the northern part of Aiken Co, SC (1971) as these counties were formed from the original Old Edgefield Dist, a part of the old 96th Dist. Most folks seem to be focusing on the more northern counties, but these also were a part of the Original Old-96th Dist, and is the area of my research, altho some of my husband's lines seem to have come to GA. from the upper part of the state.
