Researching James KERR family from the Carolinas. He was born about 1795/6 and his oldest son was David A. Kerr born about 1804. According to census records David was born in South Carolina (most of the time, but have also seen that he was born in North Carolina). According to family historians, David was born near Charlotte. James (my 3rd great grandfather) married Sally Byrd whose family (John Byrd) lived in Union County. James' family (including David) migrated to Tennessee, then to Mississippi, and eventually David ended up in Texas. Have been unable to document James and/or his parents in South Carolina.
