Hi Betty Faye, I noticed that you have the paternal surnames of LINDSEY and MATHIS. I am chasing three MATHIS brothers (Obediah b. abt. 1800 NC, Talton b. abt. 1803 NC, and Lindsey b. abt. 1807 NC). These guys were in McMinn Co TN, Roane Co TN, and Meigs Co TN from 1820s to at least 1880s. The given name Lindsey (spelled variously) is very common among their descendants. As you probably know, MATHIS is often spelled MATHES, MATHEW, MATHEWS, MATTHEWS, etc. Do you recognize any of these brothers? Do you have any MATHIS folks from NC or TN? Have you found the use of LINDSEY in your MATHIS lines?
