    1. [Old96] Evan PEARSON (c1795-c1854)

    3. While I cannot yet place Evan PEARSON (c1795-c1854) in the Pendleton District in person, many of his fellow members of the Baptist Church in that period did spend some time there in some part of their lives. I am lacking any clue as to the identity of his parents or siblings. A brief summation of his vital statistics is as follows: The first entry on Evan PEARSON (c1795-c1854), my gggrandfather, is in the 1830 Census in Habersham County, GA. He is married with 1 boy, 1 man and 2 women 16-25. He was an itinerant Baptist preacher in North GA. A sickly wife, name unknown, died c1836 according to GA State Baptist records. 1850 Census in Gordon County, GA says Evan is 55, born in GA, no wife shown, but 4 children: Rebecca, age 26 (c1824); Elizabeth, 20 (c1830); Albert 20 (c1830) and Phillip Marion 19 (1832) my ggrandfather. Evan PEARSON died c1854. DOD and cemetery unknown. The 3 other children are not found again after 1850 Census. Does any of this fit into your own work? Jim Pearson pearson96@attbi.com
