I have just joined the Old96 and am seeking information. My gg-grandfather, William H. Stephenson, was born Dec. 2, 1817 in the Anderson District. At that date I'm not sure which area name was in effect. Was it the Anderson District., Pendleton District., Old 96th District? Then again his birth information data comes from his Civil War records and I'm not sure they knew what district he was from. Anyway, I would appreciate any data from anyone that can tell me where in S. C. he was born plus the name of his parents. Thanks very much.
