Hello to all, I have just joined the list and am looking for any info anyone may have on the family of James & Isabella BARNETT, in Old 96 in the late 1700-early 1800 period. James made a deed of gift to his children in 1812, in Pendleton Dist., of his land on the Tugaloo River. I know there were possibly several James Barnetts in the area, according to the census records, just don't know which one was mine. Need his parents, siblings, any other info on him. Isabella was supposedly a JOHNSTON, but don't know her parents or siblings either. Their children were Asa, Landy, Tillmon, Wiley, Rebecca (married Silas Pitts in SC) and Mary Jane. All were in AL in 1817, except possibly Wiley. These are fairly distinctive names but I have not found them in SC records except for the deed. The BEAMONs were probably neighbors in SC, and moved to AL about the same time. Have a long history of assoc. between the two families in AL. Would appreciate any input from anyone having info on the parents and/or siblings of James & Isabella Johnston BARNETT. Many thanks in advance!! Sherry Bowers Alabama
