    1. [Old96] WHITTEN; WHITTON
    2. SONJA WHITTEN
    3. I am searching for Charles Whitten(on). He and his family left old 96 district in the early 1820's and ended up in Lauderdale County, Alabama and Wayne County, TN in the 1830. They may have resided in Warren County, TN for a short time. This is my first time writing to this list. I can somewhat document my line back to Charles. There seems to be several Charles Whittens that were contemporaries. I am trying to find out where he originated and who his parents and/or his siblings where. Any help would be greatly appreciated. John L. Whitten

    1. Re: [Old96] HOLSOMACK - HOLSONBACK -HOLSENBECK - HOLSUMBACK - HOLSONBAKE
    2. Conrad & Tricia Holsomback
    3. I am particularly interested in any and all information on Abram (Abram) Holsomback (variant spellings) He and his wife Jean/Joan obtained their first land grant of 400 acres in 1772 and another 400 acres in 1774 and sold several parcels of that land in various years. He had sons John and Derrick who also had land holdings in the Edgefield district. I believe he died after 1812. He last appeared in the 1810 census of Edgefield. I have been unable to find a death record or will for him, I have not found any church or bible records for him either. Jean obtained a parcel of land in her name in the district after 1812 which leads me to believe that husband Abram/Abraham died during the period 1810 to 1812. I have calculate that he was born around 1740 and I don't know where he was born. He was of German descent and may have been a Palatine, and he may have been from PA.
