Lois, I was interested in your posting of NATHANIEL REID/REED (1745-1798). I'm curious about an 1829 Deed (Pickens Dist DB A-1, p 292), CHARLES F. LAY to NANCY REID and her children SUSANNAH, ELIZABETH, SARAH, POLLY & NANCY. This was for 130 acres on "Tomasso" Creek, waters of Little River adj. old Indian Boundary. I'm working on the LAY family. There were TWO men named Charles F. Lay in the same place and time period, and I'm hoping for clues in land records to help me sort them out.
