    2. Hi I got permission from a great person with good genealogy background and a local in Habersham co.Ga. before sending the information on the Habersham co.Ga.Heritage book, which was posted on the Habersham co.Ga.mailing list,on to other mailing list. In the past, this person met me in Batesville,Habersham co.Ga.(over a year ago) and along with another resident helped me to find my Brookshire Graves at Providence Baptist Church there and helped me to find some Local people in the area with good information to help me. They have been a helping hand to me in much of the information from that area and have sent me several copies, snail mail and email, free information over the previous months.I have a ton of trust and respect for this person, which has been earned. The Habersham co.Ga.mailing list,GAHABERS-L@rootsweb.com is a very commendable and informative site. Many of the OPD and others mailing list have their connections in Habersham co.Ga. The group that is getting this book together probably can be contacted thru that mailing list and I feel sure they can assure you this is probably a community effort. They also have a Heritage Day Festival, which will be in Oct.this year.I attended last yesr and enjoyed it very much. I was born and raised in Greenville,SC area (still here, next to OPD) and have many Stewart (Robert Stewart line) and other ancestors in the Old Pendleton District. I know several people personally in the Old Pendleton District area and in the genealogy group. My Brookshires were in Habersham co.Ga.along with Martin from Anderson co.SC.and Sharpton from I don't know, were also there.I have helped others searching in Habersham co.Ga.and OPD many many times. When I sent this information online I tried to send it to as many surnames and locations that I could remember, which may have some connection and information that they wanted to contribute to this effort,I ended up with a very long list which looks very suspicious if you are looking at it in terms of "selling" this book and if your job is to look for suspicious informationand behavior. My mistake.I was not aware that this would be interpreted as something not on the up and up. I have seen so many surnames with connections to Habersham co.Ga.that the list just grew and grew.It has become one of my favorite places and the mailing list is great. Please understand that I sent it in hopes of making people aware that they still have time to send articles in and help to make this a source of information to us all. I did this in an effort to get articles and information to make the book a great one.I think there are many connections in Habersham co.Ga.that need to be discovered and available to everyone. I think other areas are developing Heritage books in this same manner,I think that is a great idea. I have found my very best information from direct decendants and local folks.Anyone searching genealogy knows that even small trival statements can be valuable and information is everywhere. I hope many local genealogy groups compile Heritage books.I could certainly use the information. Information needs to be shared.I am sure this book will end up in our libraries and in resources, available for free to many of us. As a big time procrastinator with a very busy lifestyle,I have not contributed any articles my Brookshire,Martin,Sharpton ect information yet and was happy to learn that myself and others have more time to send in our informatio.I am hoping to encourage others to send their information too. I believe if this information is compiled and made available,It will serve good purpose to many who have connections to Habersham co.Ga. My intent was not to "sell" this book.My intent was to get information sent in to complete the book and make it a tool for us all.I have been on the Old Pendleton District mailing list and others for a long time,my interest lies in discovering and sharing information.I have shared everything that I have learned, free to everyone on the list and forums that I am on.I get a little carried away when it comes to gathering and sharing with others, guess I did go a little overboard with the mailings. I believe this effort of the Habersham co.Ga.folks to be legit and think that before making a statement that it is not, one should check out the information. Remember that this information was only posted in one place, the GAHABERS list. "I"(not the originator,me) made the mistake of sending it on to others, to try to gather more information, not for the sales of a book that isn,t or may not be printed without more information to complete it. I will continue to share this information with others and will remove the portion of information on the "selling" of the book,if that is suspicious behavior to others,as I stated before Gathering and sharing information is my objective. Sincerely Gay Stewart Beam
