My William Reid Hamilton (1791-1853)was there and he had no visible parents. I can not separate my Jane Rodgers from all the other Janes, she married Jonathan Clarke in OPD in 1787. Maybe John Rodgers was her father and if so then who was her mother? OPD folks did not gossip and they kept their family stuff private but if someone can help me with Hamilton and Rodgers, I would appreciate it. >> Just a suggestion, one alien descendant to another: Have you checked Abbeville/Upper Long Canes settlement and Andrew Hamilton's family? Born in 1741, he came to upper SC from Augusta Co., VA (along with many other Augusta migrants) ca. 1865 and lived there until 1835. "Reid" is a well-known name from Augusta/Rockbridge Cos., as is Hamilton. I would look, then, in the surrounding counties (Abbeville & Greenwood) for Hamilton family data.
