Hello All, I am new to this list and would like to connect with anyone who has information on McGEE or CHAPMAN. I am specifically looking for information on Solomon McGee, born abt 1780 in VA. His son George Washington McGEE was born 1812 in SC. It's possible Solomon married Elizabeth CHAPMAN, daughter of Joseph Chapman, but I have no proof of this yet. I have lots of information on Solomon's descendents to share. The 1810 Census of Pendleton district of South Carolina, page 145 lists Solomon McGee. 2 males under 10, a male 26-45, 2 females 16-26 and one female 26-45. Just two lines above them is a listing for Joseph Chapman, 1 male under 10, 1 male over 45, 1 female 10-16 and 1 female over 45. I believe this could be Solomon's wife's parents. There is no longer a Solomon listed in Chesterfield Co where there was one listed in 1800. Would appreciate any contacts. Olive Lee >From Oklahoma "The Heartland"
