It's possible he could have been born in the Pendleton District. Richard's parents would have been born somewhere else as this area was not open to white settlement that early. I don't have any Holdens. My Whitakers arrived in this area shortly after 1800. I wish I could help in more detail, but my schedule is rather busy right now.
