    2. I am new to the list and am posting my research surnames: CALDWELL, David. I have an A.C. (probably Allen Cary) Caldwell who was born ca 1804-08 in Anderson, S.C.; therefore, Pendleton District. He was in St. Clair Co., AL in 1830; Talladega Co., AL in 1840; and Randolph Co. in 1850. Presumptive father was David Caldwell. There is a David Caldwell in the 1810 and 1820 Pendleton Dist., S.C., Censuses. There is also a John Cary living nearby in both Censuses. Do not know where this David Caldwell came from--perhaps from the large Caldwell clan in Laurens/Newberry? Relation, if any, to Cary clan. RUSK, James. There is a John Rusk in Pendleton Dist--presumed Old Stone Church mason. Have a plat which shows James Rusk in 1794 having land beside John Rusk. However, no James Rusk in Censuses. James Rusk goes to Walton Co., GA and then Jersey/Greene Co., IL by 1830. Trying to connect two Rusks. If anyone has Pendleton Dist. databases/books showing land, wills, court cases, etc. on these surnames would appreciate hearing from you. Cynthia in California
