This sounds like the R.E. Fortescue I am looking for, he and Emma (Massey) had a daughter in the 1920 SC census that was only 6-------so I am assuming they must have married when they were in there 40's-----I am almost positive this Emma that was married to R.E. Fortescue is Emma Massey born around 1869 -1870 and the daughter of Elias and Eunice Nix Massey-----in the 1920's census they were living next door to George and Mamie Rice, which , George would be Emma Massey's nephew , being he is the son on her sister Sally Massey who married Joesph Erza Rice, thank you Connie for that information, does anyone else have anything that they think might fit into this Emma Massey Fortescue story-------------with the information I have , I am going to make by hypothesis that Emma who married R.E. Fortescue is Emma Massey, the location is right for her and the ages, and in her brother's obit it states he had a sister Mrs. R.E. Fortescue---------------- would anyone else like to make an assumption about this Emma also I am still trying to postively find out who Elias Massey and Eunice Nix's parents were. Elain
