Hello, Bettie Jenkins, My Alexander Murphy supposedly married a Sadie Jenkins in Old Pendleton, prior to 1796. She is believed to have had a relative, Matthew Jenkins who later married Sadie's daughter Zelpha/Sylpha, probably about 1815, but this may have occurred after the family left Pendleton. They were in Pendleton in 1810, but in Southern Illinois, Pope County by 1818 or perhaps before. It is also possible that they tarried awhile somewhere in Tennessee. Ring any bells?
