The Simmons lines get a little complicated, but here goes: Charles Simmons b. abt 1798 wife: Susan born abt 1797 listed in the 1850 Anderson dist. census with the following children: 1. Frances b. abt 1828 2. Tully 1829-1864 married Mary A. Grant ( d/o William Grant and Nancy Lanier) 3. Jordan 1833-1901 married Martha Catherine Grant (sister to Mary above) 4. Elizabeth abt 1836 married George Grant (brother to female Grants above) 5. David abt 1839 6. Charles H. 1842-1884 married Harriett Grant ( d/o Asa Grant and Lucinda Gilbert) 1st cousin of the Grants above 7. Sally 1837-1899 married Samuel Grant ( brother of Harriett Grant) So 5 of Charles Simmons children married into the Grant family.
