I'm still here too! I'm still looking for information on my 3g grandfather, William Thedford. He was born in Pendleton Dist. in 1803, and was in GA by 1830 and TX by 1851. He married Jane Satterfield, also of Pendleton Dist., and they had 15 children, all reportedly born in GA. I can't find anything out about who his parents were. Help??? Thanks! Lorrie Thedford lorriet@mindspring.com
Lorrie, For some reason that name rings a bell. Let me dig around here a few minutes. donna http://www.angelfire.com/tx4/donnasdigs My Johnson Co., TX Cemeteries Page http://www.angelfire.com/tx4/txcemeteries Our TX Cemeteries Web Site ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lorrie" <lorriet@mindspring.com> To: <SC-OLD-PENDLETON-DIST-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, September 26, 2000 10:03 PM Subject: [SC-OPD] Hello! Sorry, Lorrie, if I got you all excited. Looks like I was having an old age attack and got it confused with William Cording and Mary Satchwell. Kinda close, but not what you were needing. So sorry. donna ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lorrie" <lorriet@mindspring.com> To: <SC-OLD-PENDLETON-DIST-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, September 26, 2000 10:03 PM Subject: [SC-OPD] Hello! Still here and trying to track down as many of Lt. William Grant's descendents. Some of the lines married into it are Simmons, Clark, Cox, Davis, Whitfield, Mason, Moss, Forrester, Miller, Moore, Greer, Bates, Sullivan, Richardson, Ables, Lanier, Gilbert, Adams, Kilgore, Roach, Marshall, Frost, Holland, Johns, Daniels, Treadaway, Patterson, and Smith to name a few. The file I have contains over 1200 people that I have been able to round up since last October. All of this is documented by me. My records run from 1812-1970's. I am missing a ton of people, so If you need to ask a question please do so. I will be glad to answer. Kristy 4th great grand-daughter of Lt. William Grant 3rd great grand-daughter of Noah Grant, Sr. Orr's Reg. Co. G
Kristy, My name is Lee Campbell ( my maiden name was Smith) and I noticed in your e-mail, that you and I have several families in common. I have a Cox line, two Moore lines, and three, possibly four Smith lines. I also have Garrett, Heaton, Murphree, Morris, and many others. I think almost all of my ancestors were in South Carolina in 1830, 1840, and quite a few of them in 1850. My two direct lines of Smiths were in Texas in 1850. Hiram and Nancy (Wileman) Smith were in Titus co. Texas, and Luke and Rachel (?) Smith were in Polk Co., Texas. But my two Moore families (Alexander and Lucinda (Sumner????) Moore, and James M. and Mary G. (???) Moore) were still in Anderson Co., S.C. If you are interested, we will see if we can connect on any of these lines. Will share and exchange data.
