Charles, There are still some Purcell's in the Franklin/Stephens County Area. (Stephens was formed from Franklin & Habersham Co's) If all else fails, you may want to call the Franklin County Historical Society 706/384-4361, Rev. Edward Patterson has build a large database of Franklin Co. Families. They are open Tuesdays & Thursdays. The Toccoa Historical Society, 706/282-5055 don't know all their hours, but they are open Friday afternoons 1-4 PM.
