    3. Thanks to K. Finley for directions to the Horton Family Cemetery in Belton, SC. I found the cemetery Wednesday and was very up-set at the condition. There was heavy under-growth, weeds, vines, fallen trees, sunken graves and the fence was partially down. There were only two "real" markers that I saw, the others were field Stones. But there may have been more markers for I realized that I was standing on one, while I was taking photos of my ancestor's (Edward Vandiver b.1748) tombstone. I cleaned it as best I could, and took a photo of it too. The Cemetery was located in a large parcel about 150' wide & 500' or more deep and there were houses on one side and a small sub-division on the other, So, someone, or the county must own the property. My ancestor's tombstone looks as if it was put there between the 1920's-1960's. My question is: what can be done about the neglect of this and other old cemeteries?
