Hello, I know I'm trying to find my gr gr gr grandfather Nicholas Briskey/Brisky and his wife Elizabeth Mark/Merck and where they are burried. I know now they lived in the Old Pendleton district. And also trying to find out exactly where their homestead was. Elizabeth's father gave them a lot of acreage upon their marriage. It tells in his will. But doesn't say exactly land etc where. Just between his home and her sisters house. Far as I can go back is their marriage in 1789 in Charles town (Charleston). I keep hitting brick walls when it comes to finding he and his brother's military records in the American Revolution. Good luck on yours. I'm sure the Alabama are probaby decedents of freemans.
