Here's is what I can find on Thomas CROW in OPD, 1880: p/ 3 # 7 Thomas CROW 00010-51010-00 no sons, six young daus. he and wf. betw/ ages 26-45, no slaves, no other free persons who were not white. Here the enumerator is working along Gregory Creek, Twelve Mile Creek. Another Thomas CROW: p. 118 # 820 Thomas CROW 21001-01010-00 This Thomas is over 45 yrs. of age and poss. the father of the other one. There are three young sons and one daughter, so the wife may be near 45, but as the category indicates, she is younger than her husband and MAY be a 2nd wife. This comes fr. an Enhanced Census of the OPD and may or may not help you. From "Pendleton District, SC, 1790-1806" p. 27 19 Oct 1791 Thos. CROW wit deed of Wm. PRITCHARD to James BROWN p. 119 16 Sep 1794 Thos. CROW wit deed of Benjamin ALDRIDGE to Hugh HARKINS. Thos. CROW made oath to Wm. HALL, J.P. 19 Mar 1796 p. 257 27 Oct 1795. Thomas CROW of Washington Dist. to John BROWN for L5 stg for 200 ac on "Brushy Creek of Saluda River, granted to CROW by States Title PATENT, by Wm. MOULTRIE, 1 Jul 1793. WHITEFIELD - Thomas CROW State of SC Pickens Dist., I James W. WHITEFIELD of said state and Dist. do bind myself unto Thos. CROW for the sum of $400 which pmt. will be made unto the said Thos. CROW the said james W. WHITEFIELD shall fail to perform the conditions of the obligation is that such James W. WHITEFIELDl shall w/in the space of 12 mos. fr. the date make a lawful title to a certain tract of land lying on Cain Creek waters of Keowee R. whereon Alexander EADINS/EDENS now lives agreeable to be conveyance made to Matilda EADING [Edens?] by James PRIMER/POINER acc. to the will and contents of Alex EADINS the father of her the said Matilda she then being a miner child of him the said Alex EADING then the obligation to be void otherwise to remain in full force.
