    3. I have downloaded the application to join the Old Pendleton District Gen Society several times. I seven of my twelve main lines came through there -- but I keep putting it off. I would love to have the attachments you mentioned. Someone told me they ran installments a couple of years ago on my Baldwin line -- I can't keep putting off that membership -- there's no telling what I've missed. I couldn't agree more with you about that Alabama book! I'm so tired of hearing about that in response to every single post. She must be trying to sell it!!! I'm like you -- I want to pin down the earlier lines before I start worrying about where they ended up. To be honest, I can't remember my source on Polly Freeman Adams' being the daughter of Barney Freeman and Margaret McCollum. The database from the Old Pendleton Society website, maybe?? I'll look through my notes tomorrow -- now I'm really curious. It makes sense though, my 2nd great-grandfather's name was Barney Adams -- I assumed he was named for his grandfather Freeman. I can say for sure that Polly was Barney's mother -- I found that on his death certificate. (I am working on finding conclusive proof for everything I cite from sources on the internet -- I use it as a guide map, but not an absolute source. I don't have a lot of information on Jacob's descendants other than his son George Washington. I only connected the dots on this line a couple of months ago. I grew up hearing tales from my grandmother, mother and aunts about their Old Uncle George Freeman. (Sorry to digress a moment -- but the Freemans and Adams are part of my paternal lines.) Come to find out, Uncle George married my great-grandfather's sister, Necia Baldwin (from the OPD Baldwins I mentioned earlier.) They lived in the Conns Creek District of Cherokee County, Georgia. The Baldwins moved here about 1880 from Oconee County. Necia died in childbirth with their first child and Uncle George never remarried. He is buried at Conns Creek Baptist Church with the rest of his family. Jacob and his wife, Charity Price are buried there. I got their birth and death dates from their monuments. Jacob -- b. 1/16/1790 d. 3/10/1873 Charity -- b. 2/5/1810 d. 2/13/1904. I only have one of their children in my database so far -- George Washington Freeman. He was born 10/19/1829 in Habersham County. (A lot of the pioneers in this area spent time there. The settlers had left South Carolina headed for the Cherokee lands of North Central and North West Georgia. The lived in the counties close to the SC line while they waited for the Cherokee Removal to take place.) He died in September 1900. He married Savillia Jane Beardon on January 27, 1855. I have two of their children in my database. Uncle George who I mentioned earlier and Charity Freeman born 1860. She married Bud Beard. I don't know his real name. My grandmother, Mattie Baldwin grew up with their children. One of them, Mattie, married my grandmother's first cousin, Lee Sartor. The other daughter, Dicye, married my grandfather's (A.J. Fletcher -- Mattie Baldwin's husband) second cousin, Bob Purcell. (When I write this -- I get confused -- I apologize if it's too confusing!! We really aren't inbred around here!) Oh my Lord -- if Polly was Jacob's daughter instead of Barney -- I think I may be kin to myself!! Oh wait -- I already am anyway!! I almost forgot -- I live in Woodstock, Georgia -- about thirty minutes from the areas I've described. It's north metro Atlanta. I once interviewed for a job in Greenwood. I can't remember the name of the company -- but they made vitamins. Not Pfizer but a big drug company name like that. (I'm in marketing.) I want to get up your way someday soon. I have so many roots up there. Happy Hunting Rebecca Bannister [email protected] 770.926.8211 -----Original Message----- From: Wilma C. Genealogical Society and receive their newsletter, I have about 14-15 pages on the Freemans that was run in this newsletter in 3 installments for Freemans belonging to the chapter who are working on our line. I can send this to you by attachment, if you would like to have it. Someone sent me a page a Jacob's family not too long ago - just a short run down. My ggrandfather furnished info on the family to a man name Earle Freeman back around 1917, think it was, before ggpa. died. Mr. Freeman made a little booklet on the descendants of Mark Freeman, but as it usually happens, ggp didn't write his own down!! but he does name all the sons of Needham. Of course, ggp could have written it down and someone could have trashed it when cleaning out his belongings and none of the other family ever saw it. Jeptha, brother of Needham, who also died in Ga., named a daughter Thena Adams (Tena in another place) in his will. She married James W. Adams and they had Edieth Adams. I guess this child was named after Jeptha's wife, Edieth. Surely her name Edith! These Adams maybe kin to yours. My mother and her crew never found a will or any estate papers on in Ga. on Needham, nor his wife Martha (Patty). They never found when or where they died or where they are buried, either. I have got to get to my old emails and get some these messages deleted. This Angel person has really filled it up and I know I have seen that about the book in Chambers Co. Ala. about 50 times - seems to be the same message over and over. I never dreamed I would get the same message! I guess it was to all Freemans, but it was in answer to me, seems like. I would really like to see the book, but need to work on earlier generations, like about the time John was born. I don't believe the book would give us John's father, but one never knows what is to be found where. My mother has your Mary P. listed as a child of Jacob in what they found on Jacob. Of course she did not have the marriage. I live in Greenwood, SC.
