Billie In my researching for my gr gr gr grandfather Nicholas Briskey/Brisky and his wife Elizabeth Mark/Merck I found that many families migrated from there around 1830's. Many to GA around troup and harris county. And then onto Chambers County,Al or surrounding areas. I have a book Heritage of Chambers County,AL by Heritage Publishing Co. And in this book I have found many decedents for other families who started out in SC area. Howell is listed on 166/167. Might be worth a trip to your local library and see if they can order a copy for you to look at through the inner library loan dept it's free.
