Carol, None of Needham Freeman's sons were named Edward & the name was not common to his family. These people lived in the area of OPD that became Pickens Co. However, I am trying to prove that old John Freeman of Wake Co., NC, d. 1800, had a brother Edward who died 1811 in Franklin Co., NC, just across the line from Wake. In 1785 one Edward Freeman witnessed a deed with John in Wake Co. & Edward of Franklin also had some children that lived in Wake Co. I can't seem to pinpoint this Edward, but think he might be the one from Brunswick Co., Va., where at one time there was an Edward with wife named Lucy and one with wife Sarah. I haven't found Edward's wife name in Franklin Co., NC yet, but do have a deed dated 1768 in Brunswick Co., Va. made by Edward & Lucy of Bute Co., NC., selling to Daniel Cato. Of course Franklin Co. at that time was in Bute Co. and I think it is proven that Lucy was a Cato. Wilma K.
