Hello, I'm researching the same area for my gr gr gr grandfather Nicholas Briskey/Brisky and his wife Elizabeth Merk/Mark. In my researching I found that many families migrated together around 1830's. Land grants. Many first to GA around Troup and Harris counties, and then onto Chambers County,AL and surrounding areas. Back then many states and counties changed. In a copy of Heritage of Chambers county,AL book by Heritage Publishing I found a Middleton family on pages 124,289 probably marriages into other families. And are probably decendents of your line. I have found many for people this way. Might be worth a trip to your local library and see if they can order a copy for you to look at through inner library loan dept which is normally free service.
