I am writing to this list because my g-grandfather James W Webb b abt 1847 there in SC Old Pendleton Dist. I am seeking information that will help me find his marriage to Francis Wates (Waits) They first appear on the 1880 census for Cherokee GA with the first child Laura J said to be born abt 1872 GA. So I am thinking they must have married just a few years before the 1870 census. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Mary
