You replied: One can search SC Archives by typing that in and selecting research. When you get to search screen you can type in last name of family searching and find archive records. You may have already done this. I did just find a John Hanie applying to practice medicine in 1850. Hope this helps some. I know about brick walls. Billie Sutton Smith Thanks for you ideas Billie, yes I have search for Hanie in any and ever place over the years! Even found a place/township with Hanie, Hessen-Kassel, Germany I have wrote years pass to elderly relatives (now departed) and a similar line always comes around: Black Dutch, Black Irish, German-Jew as being where did the family come from! Maybe I won't find out until the other side when I meet my ancestors...<smile> Thank you Annette in Jackson Co., Ga
Annette - regarding your comment of Black Dutch, Black Irish, German-Jew, what exactly are the Black Dutch and Black Irish? I've heard of this, but have never been able to determine exactly what it means.
