Is anyone working on the Mayfields? I am stuck with Samuel who came to the district and seemed to live on his brother's land, Abraham Mayfield. I have been trying long distance to learn his children's names. I may need to visit SC to look for them. Would there be school records or church records? Furman University has a very large collection of Baptist Church records. You maybe able to search their records on linve. I haven't tried their web page lately. Do you know what church they attended and maybe I can help you? My grandfather was Bunyan Burrell Mayfield who was born in 1893 in SC, he lived in the Greer area and I can't find his parents he was living with a Cannada family when he was 17. He told my grandmother he was an orphan and never talked about his family. He was also a Baptist. Brushy Creek Baptist Church was the mother church for 7 other churchs in the area.
