I would be interested in learning where and what you found about Eleanor being adopted. I have not seen that. I wonder if it could be proven by adoption/guardianship records? Do they exist? Have you seen R. W. Simpson, History of Old Pendleton District, pp 110-111 where it says that Eleanor and Samuel Taylor were buried on the old farm now owned by the children of A. F. Lewis? Do you know the location of these burials? Bob Pfennig in New Braunfels, TX brownej wrote: I am descended from Eleanor Cannon and Samuel Taylor. Somewhere in my searchings I got some information that said that Eleanor was adopted by the Cannons. Can anyone verify this? Also I have Mrs. Cannon as Nancy (I think this was once a nickname for Ann) but I have no surname. Samuel and Eleanor named one of their sons William Cannon Taylor. That's all that I have on Cannon. I got the information from a book called "Lost Links". I can't remember the author's name. It called Eleanor, adopted daughter of William Cannon. Supposedly they were from near Charleston. That's all that I know. Sorry I don't know anything about adoption records. Beth robertpf wrote: > > I would be interested in learning where and what you found about Eleanor > being adopted.
