I am searching for ancestors of Jacob or Samuel Edens (one source list Jacob as the husband of Rachel, another list Samuel) who married Rachel Stewart Hamilton. Rachel's first husband was Jacob Hamilton. The children of Rachel and either Jacob or Samuel Edens were born in South Carolina. Their oldest child was born in 1792 which would lead me to speculate that the birth dates of ?Edens and Rachel were in the 1760's. By 1814 three of the sons, among them my direct ancestor James Edens, were found in Bledsoe County, Tennessee. Archiblad remained in the middle Tennessee area until he migrated later in life to Louisiana. Alexander and Samuel lived in the area around Lincoln County and Winchester, Tennessee. My ancestor, James, migrated with his father-in-law Featherston Walden to Morgan County, Alabama. Recently I discovered a marriage license for younger brother Elias Edens in Lawrence County, Alabama, which adjoins Morgan County, Alabama. My direct ancestor, James Edens, was ordained as a Baptist Minister in Morgan County, Alabama. Sherry
