I have just gotten Anderson Land records for my Clarks. Most of it is easy to understand, but there are two that I am having trouble understanding. They are the last two sales in this list all of which concern land sold by my gg grand -mother Martha Jane Nevitt Clarke, wife of John Baylis Clarke, Jr, after he had died in 1888.. Does dower in the third sale mean land that her husband left her in his will, and what does Homestead mean in the last sale? Grantor Index Martha J. Clark to Samuel D.
