    3. Do you have the DURHAMS traced back very far? Arthur DURHAM is the furthest back I have...he received a 200 acre Memorial in Craven Co., SC, waters of Cane Cr., NE side of Saluda River. This area later became Laurens Co. The precept date was 2/2/1773. His neighbors were John CUNNINGHAM, George CARTER, John PHILPOT, Samuel WEATHERS. Land was certified 2/12/1773, granted 6/23/1774. Arthur's wife was Eliz. Samuel WEATHERS had 300 a. on Cain/Cane Cr., precept date 6/2/1772-his wife was Martha DURHAM. Samuel WEATHERS and Martha DURHAM must have married in NC prior to moving to SC because their dau. Isabella was born in NC. I don't know where they were in NC. The other children I know of for the DURHAMS are Henry, Arthur, Stephen, Margaret "Peggy", and Mary. Samuel and Martha DURHAM WEATHERS moved to GA. Their dau. Isabella married Isaac son of Thomas CARTER who sided with the British in the Rev. War--they lived as refugees in E. FL after the War. Arthur DURHAM Sr. established the Turkey Cr. Baptist Church of Saluda R. in the late 1700's. That is all I know. I would be very interested to know where this family came from in NC.
