I always took the Floyd / Stewart / Burford page as standalone and generic, but this paragraph (which page is this?) potentially puts new light on the subject. Many of the Enoch Floyd line from Spartanburg married Scotts and Masons--and went on to Gordon Co. GA by 1850.
