Stewarts pagination for the 1800 Pendleton Census Analysis. He begins with Colonel Brown's Regiment, which is numbered 1 through 18 on the census and numbers household heads 1 through 911. This he designates as Oconee County today. Then, he takes Colonel Kilpatrick's Regiment, which is numbered 18 through 40 on the census pages, with households numbered 1-1085. He designates this as present day Pickens County. Next, he takes Colonel Anderson's Regiment, which is numbered 40 through 60 on the census pages, with households numbered 1-1017. This he designates as present day Anderson County. My hope is that some of you who have Stewarts in this area at this time will benefit from this information and lend a hand to me in sorting out the Stewarts who are my line. My gg grandfather was Samuel Stewart; he had a brother John who remained in what is now Anderson Co., near Generostee ARP church in the Iva, Starr, Anderson area. Samuel also had a younger brother, James G. Stewart, and sisters Ann who married Francis Cunningham and Nancy who married John Sherrard. My hope is to find the Stewart who sired the above Stewarts. I give herewith only those Stewarts who actually are listed in the 1800 Pendleton census: Oconee Section: Colonel Brown's Regiment: Household # 572 John Stewart Males 40101 Females 42010-00 Pickens Section: Colonel Kilpatrick' Regiment: Household # 904 Robert Stewart Males 01111 Females 11101-00 Household #966: William Stewart Males 10301 Females 00101-02 Household #967 James Sterwart Males 10100 FemaHousles 00010-00 Anderson District: Colonel Anderson's Regiment: Household #229 Francis Cunningham Males 10010 Females 40010-13 Household #323 John StewarD Males 01201 Females 20010 -00 (Mr. Stewart and I corresponded somewhat lengthily about this appearing as STEWARD (with a D rather than a T). He expressed the opinion to me that it probably should be STEWART. More to follow, later. Cordelia Snell Holem Austin, TX
