I have a question about John WILSON of Brushy Creek (1755-1849). I believe he is the brother of the William WILSON in Deborah Byrd's query. John WILSON's will, Anderson District: WILL OF JOHN WILSON-pp283-285: "Wife Elizabeth whole estate her lifetime. She is to reside with any of my children she may choose and her expenses paid out of estate. Negro Silvia and her present and future increase to my 4 youngest children. Namely William D. Wilson, Martha Durham, Betsey Gambrell, and Nancy Sitton. All my children. Minerva Jane Copeland to receive equal share which would have given to my deceased daughter Mary C. Copeland. Executors: Sons-in-law Reid Gambrell and John P. Sitton. Dated 2 Feb. 1848. Wit: Jno. Watson, Sr. R E Blassingame Allen O Merritt Proven 1 Oct 1849." In his will John WILSON names his 4 youngest children and dau. Mary WILSON COPELAND. A generous list member has shared information with me listing other children of John WILSON and his second wife, Elizabeth PEGG (1770-1873), as Jane WILSON who m. Wade LOVE; Samuel D. Wilson; and John W. Wilson, who m. Elizabeth Lesley. ***I need documentation to prove that Jane WILSON is the daughter of John WILSON and Elizabeth PEGG! Can anyone out there help me? Please! Amelia Bogard abogard@glade.net Deborah Byrd posted the following query: I have a question, on this Wilson family. William Wilson (d 1834 Pickens) had land on Brushy Creek of the Saluda river drainage. In Pickens deed book C-1 p. 70-70 his heirs Andrew Wilson, Robert Wilson Wm Wilson Daniel Wilson Eddy Hamilton by right of wife Jane Cunningham Wilson Elizabeth Wilson widow of John Wilson were dividing the estate, and selling off the land. Was this William the son of John of Saluda or part of John of 26 mile Creek's family?
