Don, Shockleys Ferry and Mountain Creek were two different communities and two different churches were in these places. They were the first baptist churches in this area. I live here in Anderson, SC. Mountain Creek Church and community is still on US hwy 29 south of Anderson. There was a Shockleys Ferry on the Savannah River and there is a Shockleys Ferry Road (US 29 Bypass) in Anderson that at one time ran all the way to Savannah River which is US Hwy. 29 South. The man that the Ferry was names after also had an Apple named after him called Shockleys Apple. He had apple orchards. BTW, some Chamblees live/d on Shockleys Ferry Road here in Anderson and I know some here. David > Date: Wed, 19 Jul 2000 14:11:52 -0500 > From: "Don S.
