Listers, The following information comes from the files of Mrs. Edgar Ellis Strong (deceased, wife of the Reverend Edgar Ellis Strong, Presbyterian minister). John Stewart of Old Pendleton District, b. ????, married 1st Ann Partain (bured Generostee ARP CY in Anderson Co., SC; death date 30 March 1856, in her 60th year. John remarried to a Harriet Hewins/Saunders (am unsure which was her maiden name) and had other children, two sons whose names I do not have because Mrs. Strong did not know.) John Stewart died in September 1865 and his estate was settled in November 1865, One of his sons was William Stewart, b. 3 Jan. 1821-d. 29 June 1881 and was buried at Generostee. He married Mary Ann Dickey Boyd, b. 27 June 1827, d. 14 May 1901. William Stewart is buried at Generostee. May Ann Dickey Boyd Stewart is buried at Doraville, GA. One daughter of William Stewart above was named Jane Louvenia Stewart (no dates on her). She married Wilburn Brown. Their son David Brown, b. 16 Feb. 1877; d. 8 Jan. 1967 near Generostee Church, Iva, Anderson Co. SC. David Brown;s wife was Varnina Campbell, b. 15 June 1890; d. 13 March 1967. Laura Jean Brown, their daughter, b. 6 Aug. 1917 married the Reverend Vernon Latham, Presbyterian minister, b. 8 Jan. 1913. Another daughter of William Stewart and Mary Ann Dickey Boyd was named Malinda A. M. Stewart, born 19 Oct. 1856, d. 8 June 1898; married John M. M. Pattterson, b. 1857, d. 1926. Mary Ann Dickey Boyd was a Widow when she married William Stewart. She had a son named David Boyd by her previous marriage.
