Listers, I need help with Blacks and Snells. Stewart, p. 100 Moor's Reg't - Anderson census page 42 Household #121 Alexander Snell 00001 -01301-00 The Pendleton census for 1810 (which I do not have, but have read), shows: Two Alexander Snells and One A. Snell I have no proof that my gg. grandfather David A. Black's father was a Joseph Black. I had a distant cousin (DAR) who maintained that Joseph was the ggg grandfather. I only know that David A. Black had two sons (ten daughters; I have all of them, spouses, etc.). The sons were named Samuel Oliver Black and James Pressly Black. These names could have come from their mother's side; her father was Samuel Young and her grandfather was James Bonner. Today, in Easley, there is a David Snell. I do not know him and have no idea if he has any Snell genealogy. I wonder if any of you know of cemeteries in any/all of the three counties where Snells are buried. Snells from whom I descend were in Mecklenburg NC as early as 1783. Where they came from, I haven't been able to find. They did use the given name Alexander for sons. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Akexander Snell and his wife Martha ???? witnessed an early Pendleton deed, which I do not at the moment have at hand. Thanks. Cordelia
