    3. Barbara, I made a trip through the area last week searching for my Chamblee's. There are many Shockley's in the Anderson area, in fact, the community now known as Mountain Creek was known as Shockley's Ferry in the late 1700's to early 1800's. The South Carolina Genealogical Society has cemetery transcription books available for most of the cemeteries in Anderson Co. SC.
