Hello, I've been trying to find military records on my gr gr gr grandfather and his brother. Nicholas Briskey/Brisky and his brother Charles. They we're french officers when they came to fight, but then decided to stay and joined the American Army and fought for seven years. Their name in France was either Brisque/Briscoe. Earliest I have record of him was marriage to Susan Elizabeth Mark/Merck. May 1789 in Charleston. Then Charles Town. But I keep hitting famous brick walls when it comes to military records. Any help would be greatfully appreciated.
