James Pearson Subject: [SC-OPD] A Pearson Line The name PEARSON appears as a minister on a military pension application which I have. After Mary Susan WILLIAMSON SPIVEY was widowed, she applied for a pension for the Seminole Indian War military service of her husband James Jackson SPIVEY. Among the questions she had to answer was when, where, and by whom she was married. She stated she was married December 26, 1844, in Buena Vista, Alabama, by Rev. PEARSON. I would expect that PEARSON was Baptist because the SPIVEYS were. In fact, they, later in Texas were the parents of two Baptist ministers. That name stuck in my mind but I absolutely cannot give any more information on the name PEARSON. Charlene Walker Brazell

I cannot find Buena Vista, Alabama on any map I have. If it is located in NE Alabama, it would be more likely to have happened. However, my records to date relate to his various counties of residence, and the various churches where he preached. I will place your email on file. Thank you for your help. Jim Pearson
